Since 2008, a volunteer committee has coordinated this event to provide fellowship and a festive luncheon for residents who may be isolated or experiencing financial hardship at Christmas.

The afternoon consists of providing a sit down luncheon, dessert and entertainment in a wonderfully decorated atmosphere representing the Christmas spirit.

The Joondalup Christmas Lunch is a twice recipient (2012 & 2022) of the Australia Day Active Citizenship Award for a Community Group demonstrating the ongoing positive impact this event has on our community.

FAQ

The Joondalup Christmas Lunch will be held at Central Park in Joondalup on Christmas Day 25th December. Activities will kick off at around 11.30am and will finalise at 2.30pm

The park is located on the corner of Grand Boulevard and Collier Pass in Joondalup, approximately 100 metres from the Joondalup Train and Bus Station.

Guests can register after 15 November by clicking on the ‘Register as a guest’ button in the Christmas Lunch section or by clicking here. Service agencies will have access to register clients from 1 October. Please make contact with the JCL to register your clients.

Volunteer registrations open on 1 October and close on 15 November. Volunteer can register by clicking the ‘Register as a volunteer’ button in the Volunteer section or by clicking here

The Joondalup Christmas Lunch is free for all attending, but donations to support future lunches will be graciously accepted. The lunch is to cater for those who are isolated, no family, lonely or who cannot afford a meal of their own on Christmas Day.

We could not hold this lunch without the generous support of our wonderful event partners.

A fantastic spread is provided by WA Spit Roasts which consists of roast beef and gravy, roast turkey and cranberry sauce, roast potatoes, 5 salads and bread rolls.  Vegetarian and barbeque options are also available. This fantastic meal is finished off with a wonderful Christmas pudding and custard.

We have 3 levels of event partners.

Gold event partners is for support above $1500 and will give your business full acknowledgement on our website, marketing materials and media releases. Your business name will be promoted on an entry board to the Joondalup Christmas Lunch and you will receive a small plaque as acknowledgement of your wonderful support.

Silver event partners is for support over $1000. Will see your business acknowledged on our website and in media releases.

Bronze sponsorship for support above $500. Will see your business name promoted on this website.

Of course, any support will be graciously and willingly accepted. This event could not function without the very generous support of our wonderful community and sponsors.

On-street parking is available on Grand Boulevard or Collier Pass opposite Central Park.  Ample car parking exists next to Joondalup Train Station, and Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre off Collier Pass.  Additional parking is available in front of the Lotteries Building or City of Joondalup offices on Boas Avenue located just behind Central Park.  Most parking is available within a 5 min walk to the event.

Joondalup Train Station is approximately a 10 minute walk to the venue.
